Phonics Screening Test
In year one, all children must be assessed on their phonic knowledge. This assessment takes place in June and the results are reported to parents at the end of the year as part of the annual report. We test progress in phonics regularly throughout year one to ensure that children are on track to pass the screening test, using the results to plan work and group children appropriately.
