Summer Term Space
We have blasted off into our learning this term as we discover as much as we possibly can about Space, focusing on the Earth, the Sun and the Moon. Children began the topic by generating their own independent enquiry questions and had lots of fun exploring how craters are made.
We have had a fantastic time this term using our outdoor learning environment. We have spent time exploring the variety of living things in our Forest School area as well as taking part in a number of different craft activities.
We had so much fun out on the Tough Runner course this year. It was a great opportunity for us to put ourselves to the challenge of conquering the course which covered the entire school field. Our favourite part was sliding down the giant waterslide.
First Aid Training - CPR
We were very lucky to receive training from The British Red Cross on how to help someone who may be unconscious. We practised the steps from discovering someone who needs our help through to administering CPR to save their lives.
Derby Book Festival - Meet the Author
As part of Derby Book Festival, we were very lucky to watch a live video stream of a session with the author Lesley Parr. It was really useful to listen to how she plans her writing and to hear what inspires her as an author.
