Around The World!

This half term our learning journey will all about different places from around the world. We will be exploring hot and cold places and finding out how different these places are to Heanor.  We will be learning about where different animals live and finding out if penguins live at The North Pole. We will also be exploring our oceans and finding out about some of the amazing animals who live there. We will also be continuing to develop an appreciation for our environment and learning about how we can recycle and reuse plastic to stop it from ending up in the oceans.

We are also looking forward to developing our football skills so we can take part in our own "Euros" tournament and we will be busy getting ready for our first for sports day.  We will also be taking the time to talk about and get ready to move onwards to Year 1.

Tough Runner!

We really enjoyed taking part in the Tough Runner! We all really enjoyed running and sliding down the bubble filled, inflatable water slide!

Euros Tournament!

This week we held our very own Euros football tournament. We were split into 8 teams who are taking part in the Euros 2024 tournament in Germany. We were: England, France, Germany, Belgium, Croatia, Italy, Spain and Portugal.  We enjoyed cheering and supporting each other on as well as using our football skills. We were really excited to see Mrs Walker come to present the winning team the trophy!

Europe:

This week we have really enjoyed learning about different places in Europe. We explored different maps and we enjoyed finding famous landmarks on Google Earth, such as The Eiffel Tower and The Leaning Tower of Pisa!  We also enjoyed making our very own Italian pizza, which we took home to eat.
