Throughout the academic year we will enjoy learning new skills and developing our knoweldge of the world around us. We start in the Autumn term finding out all about ourselves, our family and our friends in the topic ‘Ourselves’ answering the question ‘What do I know about me?’ We will also be finding out about different types of celebrations we take part in such as Bonfire Night and Diwali and we will be celebrating at Christmas with our very own Christmas Production!!!!
In the Spring we will be reading lots of different traditional stories, acting out different stories, using puppets and writing a traditional story. We will also be looking at different types of homes, animal homes and homes around the world.
In the Summer term we will finding out about different types of animals, looking at how they grow, where they live and how they are different or the same as each other. We will also be looking at where they live.
We are very lucky to have our own outdoor area in reception and this year we will continue to develop this area further growing our own flowers and vegetables.
