Who was William Gregg and why do we remember him in Heanor?
We were joined by William Gregg, who told us he was born in Heanor in 1890 and served as a sergeant during the First World War. He spoke about earning a prestigious award, the Victoria Cross, for his bravery and for leading successful attacks during the war.
