Let's Get Growing!

We are really excited to be talking our learning outside this half term and developing our green fingers!

We are going to be learning about planting seeds and what our seeds will need to grow. We will all plant our own sunflower seeds and we will be having a competition to see who's sunflower will grow the tallest.

We will be learning about healthy eating by reading the book: Oliver's Fruit Salad and we will be using our cooking skills to create our own fruit dishes!

We will also be looking forward to inviting our grown ups into school to come and see our very own art gallery!

We will finish this half term by exploring spring as well as learning about Easter celebrations and talking about how we might celebrate Easter at home.

Spring!

We enjoyed exploring our school grounds looking for signs of spring. We even went down to the pond in Hannah's Garden and found some frogspawn waiting to hatch!

Easter

We made Easter hats at home and wore them to school for a competition. 

How to Grow a Dinosaur!

We have been reading the book: How to Grow a Dinosaur! Inspired we made our own seed packets and sprinkled the seeds around the classroom, hoping that some dinosaurs would grow, just like the story!

We were really surprised when we came into school the next morning to find some dinosaurs were waiting for us! There was even a nest with dinosaur eggs, waiting to hatch!

World Book Day!

We really enjoyed watching a performance of the story: Treasure Island! for World Book Day.

We even came to school dressed in different characters from some of our favourite stories. Some of us came as pirates, just like in the story.
