Tell Me a Story!

This half term, we will be looking a range of different stories, including traditional tales and modern classics. We will be retelling stories which we have read in class, such as Goldilocks and The Three Bears and creating our own stories in our play.  We will also be learning to perform stories with actions, such as We're Going on a Bear Hunt.

We are also looking forward to another outdoor learning day, where we will be following a trail to discover who is hiding in the deep, dark woods.

We will continue to explore seasonal changes, comparing winter to autumn and talking about how winter makes us feel.

Goldilocks and The Three Bears:

We came into school to find a mess had been left behind by a surprise visitor!

We decided to become detectives, looking for clues to see if we could work out who had left such a mess. We found fingerprints and golden hair. We also noticed that the baby bowl was missing its porridge!

Making our own porridge

We had a go at making our own porridge, just like the 3 bears.  We mixed porridge oats with milk or water.

We tried different toppings, we had blueberries, chocolate drops, banana or raspberries.

It was delicious!

Making porridge

We made a bar chart to show the most and least popular toppings for our porridge.

The Gingerbread Man

'Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man.'

We loved joining in with the story of 'The Gingerbread Man' and helping our teachers to read it.

We made our own gingerbread men.

The Gingerbread Man Escaped!

We came into school and found crumbs on our carpet and we couldn't find the Gingerbread Man.

Where had he gone?

We decided to look on the cameras. We found him!
