We have had lots of visitors into school this week, talking about the different jobs they do. Year 3 children enjoyed a talk about being a firefighter and loved being challenged to getting into a full fireman’s kit in under 60 seconds! Mr Sinclair even had a go.

Helping us to celebrate World Book Day 2017, children at Howitt Primary School have been celebrating with a week of work learning all about the Wizard of Oz. The week started with the mystery of the melted witch! Ding! Dong! The witch is dead! Year 4 children have written and produced a news report on the Wicked Witch of the West.

The children had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day 2017, they took part in lots of reading and book activities such as making book marks and completing book reviews. The children looked fantastic in their costumes.
The ‘Award winning authour’ Billy Bob Buttons visited our school this week. He worked with Year1 and Year 2 children and delivered workshops on ‘Top tips for writers.’ We look forward to welcoming him back in the new year to work with our KS2 children.
