Achieve, Care, Enjoy

Autumn 2

This half term our learning has been based around the theme: "Lets Celebrate!"

We have been thinking about celebrations that we have been taking part in, such as Halloween and Bonfire Night, as well as learning about and making comparisons to celebrations such as Diwali. We are also looking forward to Christmas and we are really excited to be rehearsing our Nativity play for our grown ups to come and see!

We had an amazing time performing our Nativity play to our grown ups. We enjoyed dressing up as different characters and singing lots of traditional Christmas songs.

Sports Competition

We enjoyed taking part in a whole school house competition.  We worked together in our teams Haddon, Kedleston, Chatsworth and Hardwick.  We had to get the most shots in the net.

Celebrating Diwali!

We enjoyed learning about Diwali. We found out that Diwali is "The Festival of Lights" and is celebrated all over the world! We enjoyed making our own Diya lamps to celebrate.

Number Block Day!

We enjoyed dressing up in the colours of our favorite Number Blocks! We had a fantastic day learning all about numbers and developing our counting skills.

Children in Need:

We decided to take part in fundraising for Children in Need! We came to school wearing lots of different spotty accessories and we held our own bake sale to raise money. We sold our biscuits, which we baked ourselves, to our grown ups, raising £36.50 for Children in Need!

Hedgehog Bread:

We have been finding out all about Hedgehogs and hibernation. We have been learning how some animals, such as hedgehogs, spend autumn gathering food so they can hibernate through winter. We baked hedgehog bread rolls, as we found out more about these amazing animals.
