Meet the Team

Our Year 5 and Year 6 teams are made up of dedicated staff who create a warm, engaging and supportive learning environment.

Mr Wylie is the class teacher in 5J, supported by Mrs Fowkes.

In 5/6K, the class teacher is Miss Pilgrim, with Mrs Painter, Miss Marshall and Mrs Bourne supporting teaching and learning.

Mrs Prince and Miss Topham are the class teachers in 6L, supported by Mrs Wood and Miss Higgins.

Together, our team works collaboratively to ensure every child feels valued, encouraged and inspired throughout their learning journey.

Our learning this half-term...

This half-term, Year 5 and 6 are reading 'Secrets of a Sun King' by Emma Carroll which links into our topic of Egyptians.

We have been learning all about the ancient Egyptians, including how they lived, the importance of the River Nile and about mummification. The children have been developing their skills as historians through lessons on observing artefacts and discussing what they tell us about life in Ancient Egypt.

We finished the topic with a fantastic trip to Leicester Museum, where the children were able to explore the Egyptian gallery and take part in a session led by the museum staff. They were able to handle real Egyptian artifacts (some of which were over 3000 years old!) and see the collection of real Egyptian mummies.
